Commercial playgrounds & play systems
Commercial playground equipment for schools, childcare centres, councils and venues, designed, supplied and installed Australia-wide.
A good playground becomes the reason families pick your school, centre or park. Our custom play systems cover themed, nature, inclusive and toddler designs, plus towers, rope nets and modern structures, so there's a playground to suit each age group, site and budget.
All of our playgrounds are designed to comply with Australian playground safety standards (AS 4685), with certified soft-fall surfacing (AS 4422) completing the project. Choose Kidzspace to design, supply and install your next playground.

Choosing a category starts with who will use the playground and where it will sit. A childcare centre or kindergarten generally wants a toddler or nature-themed space with low fall heights and clear sight lines. A primary school needs a durable, high-throughput system such as the School or Towers ranges. A council or destination park has room to combine a rope net, a themed centrepiece and an inclusive area on one site. Each category on this page links through to the products in it, with ages, footprint and fall height stated up front.
Pricing follows the same logic. A single freestanding piece such as a spinner or springer typically costs about $2,000 to $10,000, ex GST. A toddler or early-years space delivered and installed typically runs about $30,000 to $60,000, a primary-school multi-activity system about $60,000 to $120,000, and a council or destination playground starts from about $120,000, with large feature playgrounds regularly exceeding $500,000. Fixed-price quotes cover the equipment, compliant softfall surfacing to AS 4422, site preparation, delivery, installation and independent compliance certification at handover, so the figures compare like for like against other quotes.
All playground equipment we design, supply and install is engineered to the AS 4685 playground safety series, which caps free height of fall at 3 m and governs entrapment, structural and impact requirements. Surfacing is tested to AS 4422, the standard that sets the required depth from a structure's critical fall height. Kidsafe Australia identifies falls as the leading cause of playground injury, so the fall-height figure on each category and product page is the starting point for the surfacing design.
Ongoing care matters as much as the initial build. A maintenance guide ships with each Kidzspace playground, covering routine visual checks (weekly, ideally daily on busy sites) and an annual main inspection by a qualified, independent playground inspector, as required under AS 4685. Structural steel carries a 25-year warranty; powder-coated steel, HDPE, HPL and timber 20 years; stainless steel and platforms 10 years; plastic, rubber, rope and springs 5 years; and moving parts and bearings 2 years, provided the equipment is installed and maintained to our guidelines.
Most projects start with a free concept design, so a school, centre or council can see the layout, ages catered for and indicative cost before committing. Custom-manufactured equipment typically takes around 10 to 12 weeks to build (our in-stock Quick Supply range skips that wait) and installation usually runs 3 to 14 days depending on scale. Most projects land between 8 and 16 weeks from enquiry to completed installation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right playground category for my site?
If you're weighing two categories, send us the site dimensions, the age range and your budget, and our design team will suggest a mix. Inclusive and themed designs can be layered into either a toddler or a school layout, so they don't need to be settled up front.
What warranty and maintenance does a Kidzspace playground come with?
Warranty cover applies when the equipment is installed and maintained to our guidelines. In practice that means doing the routine visual checks and booking the annual AS 4685 inspection with an independent inspector. The maintenance guide supplied with the playground sets out what to look for and how often.
What's included in a playground quote?
The quote is fixed-price and itemised, so you can see what each part costs. Installation is carried out by our own crew. Shade sails, fencing and landscaping are optional extras and are quoted separately.
How long does a playground project take from enquiry to opening?
The free 2D/3D concept design comes back within a week or two of your brief, which is the quickest way to see the layout before you commit. If your opening date is fixed, ask about the in-stock Quick Supply range, which avoids the manufacturing wait. From enquiry to completed installation, most projects run 8 to 16 weeks.
Do all Kidzspace playgrounds meet Australian safety standards?
Yes. Playgrounds are designed to AS 4685 and installed with certified surfacing to AS 4422. Independent compliance certification is issued at handover, giving you documentation for your records.
