Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2 August 2026

This page is a plain-English summary of how we work. Our full Terms of Trade & Supply v3.0 govern every quote and order and prevail over this summary if there’s any inconsistency — call 1300 543 977 or email hello@kidzspace.com.au for a copy. Quotation-specific terms are stated on each quote.

How our projects work

When you accept a quote, place an order, or pay a deposit, a contract forms on our Terms of Trade & Supply. Your quote sets out exactly what’s included — the Baseline Scope — along with our assumptions about your site.

Payment is normally 50% deposit on acceptance, 40% before your equipment is dispatched, and 10% within 7 days of practical completion (plus GST). Quotes are valid for 30 days.

Lead time is around 12–14 weeks to manufacture, plus 1–2 weeks to install. These are estimates and can move with demand, location and availability.

Your site

Our price assumes a cleared, level site with good access and standard ground conditions. If we hit rock, hard digging, unexpected underground services, poor soil, or the site isn’t ready on the day, extra work may be needed and charged at our published Schedule of Rates. We’ll always tell you first where we can, and we run a “Dial Before You Dig” and on-site service check as standard — but please let us know about any services or site issues up front.

Changes (variations)

Want to tweak your design? Just ask — we’ll send you a Variation Notice with the price before we proceed. Where extra work is required by site conditions, safety or the law, we’ll let you know and it’s charged at our Schedule of Rates.

Getting it right (and payment)

We aim for a smooth handover. If there’s ever a genuine defect when a payment is due, you only hold back the reasonable cost to fix that specific item — the rest of the invoice is still payable, and minor or cosmetic items are simply sorted out under your guarantee. Overdue accounts accrue interest at 10% p.a.

Safety standards

Our play equipment meets and/or exceeds all Australian Safety Standards for playgrounds, including AS 4685 “Playground Equipment” (general safety requirements plus the part-specific requirements for swings, slides, runways, carousels, rocking equipment and spatial networks), AS 4685.0:2017 “Development, installation, inspection, maintenance and operation”, and AS 4422 “Playground surfacing”.

Our guarantee

We provide a 15 Year Structural Guarantee as standard on our play equipment, extending to 25 years where hot-dip galvanised steel is specified. Kidzspace undertakes to remedy any defect in materials or workmanship by repairing or replacing any item that proves defective within the applicable guarantee period, with due allowance for normal wear and tear on a pro-rata basis.

Outdoor playgrounds

  • 25 year guarantee on hot-dip galvanised structural steel framework and posts
  • 15 year guarantee on pre-galvanised powder-coated structural steel framework and posts, HDPE panels, HPL panels and Robinia timber
  • 10 year guarantee on stainless steel components and platforms
  • 5 year guarantee on plastic, rubber, rope and net systems, springs and graphic panels
  • 2 year guarantee on bearings, moving parts and mechanical assemblies

Coastal installations (within 500m of the ocean)

  • 5 year guarantee on steel, plastic, resin, timber, rubber and rope components
  • 1 year guarantee on all moving parts

Coastal terms are capped at the above even if the optional zinc-coating corrosion-protection upgrade is taken — salt air is tougher on equipment. In corrosive environments we strongly recommend regularly washing equipment with clean water.

Indoor playgrounds

  • Structural steel, platforms and panel components as per the outdoor tiers above
  • 5 year guarantee on plastic, reinforced polyester resin, timber, rubber and rope components
  • 1 year guarantee on moving parts, foam and netting

What the guarantee covers

The guarantee covers defects in materials and manufacturing workmanship. It doesn’t cover cosmetic marks, vandalism, corrosion, misuse, weather/environmental damage or lack of maintenance — and it depends on you carrying out the routine inspection and maintenance required by AS 4685.0 (extra washing matters near the coast). A part is covered only for the original guarantee period; the guarantee on a repaired or replaced part expires with the original period.

Wet pour rubber: some colours of top-layer rubber may temporarily discolour (a yellowing caused by UV reaction with the polyurethane binder) which fades with sunlight and foot traffic. We do not warrant colour change, damage to freshly poured rubber by animals or birds, or shrinkage of rubber from fixed edges.

Where a claim is accepted, Kidzspace pays transport costs for the return of defective products (when returned in accordance with our written instructions) and for the delivery of repaired or replaced products, but not labour costs for removal or installation.

Design

Designs are created specifically to meet your needs. Many components can be swapped with others from our range, and colours can be tailored — talk to us about any changes you’d like. All designs and drawings we prepare stay our property and are commercial-in-confidence — but once your project is paid in full, you’re licensed to use them for your playground.

Insurances and quality assurance

  • Public and products liability: $20,000,000
  • Professional indemnity: $10,000,000
  • Workers compensation and motor vehicle insurance
  • QLD schools licensed vendor; building licences in all Australian states
  • Quality assured to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015
  • Tamper-resistant fixings used as standard

Questions or a dispute

Talk to us first — almost everything is sorted with a phone call. Formally, we’ll work through senior-level discussion and mediation before court. These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.
