Specifications

The Ranger Outpost pairs a shingle-roofed timber-look tower with a free-standing rope pyramid, joined by an elevated mesh tunnel bridge. That bridge is what makes the unit work — it turns two separate pieces of equipment into one continuous circuit, so children climb the net, cross at height and exit down a slide without touching the ground. The tower carries a cottage-style panel with a window opening at deck level and moulded log panels below, giving the structure a woodland-cabin character that suits nature-play and bushland settings. Two tube slides run from the upper deck: a shorter grey-and-orange spiral on one side and a long sweeping curved slide on the other, dropping to ground level well clear of the climbing frame. The rope pyramid is a full climbing structure in its own right, with tensioned net faces on all sides and a steel A-frame, so multiple children can climb at once at their own pace. Ladder access to the tower gives a simpler route up for children who aren't ready for the net. Overall the unit measures 11.4 x 7.3 m and stands 5.0 m high, with a required safety zone of 15 x 12 m. Kidzspace supplies, installs and certifies the structure to AS 4685, with AS 4422 softfall specified to suit the fall height.

Common questions

What age is the Ranger Outpost suitable for?

The Ranger Outpost is designed for 6+ years.

Is the Ranger Outpost safe and Australian-standards compliant?

Yes. Like all Kidzspace equipment, it's designed and built to AS 4685, with softfall surfacing to AS 4422. Independent certification is available on request.

How much space do I need for the Ranger Outpost?

Allow for its safety zone of 15.00 x 12.00 m — this includes the clear, softfall-surfaced fall area around the equipment.

Do you deliver and install the Ranger Outpost across Australia?

Yes — we design, deliver and install nationwide with our own team, and hand over full compliance certification at completion.

Can the Ranger Outpost be customised?

Colours and theming can be tailored to suit your site or brand — talk to us about the options.

How much does the Ranger Outpost cost?

Your final price is a fixed quote tailored to your site, surfacing and installation — request a free quote for an exact figure.

What's included in the price?

Every fixed-price quote is itemised and covers the equipment, compliant softfall surfacing (AS 4422), site preparation, delivery, installation by our own crew, and independent compliance certification at handover. Optional extras like shade sails, fencing and landscaping are quoted as separate line items so you can see exactly where your budget goes.

How long does delivery and installation take?

We'll turn around a free 2D/3D concept design within a week or two of your brief. Custom-manufactured equipment then typically takes around 10–12 weeks to build — our in-stock Quick Supply range skips that wait entirely. Installation itself usually takes 3–14 days depending on the scope. All up, most projects run 8–16 weeks from enquiry to completed installation.

What warranty applies?

25 years on hot-dip galvanised structural steel, 15 years on powder-coated steel, HDPE, HPL and timber, 10 years on stainless steel and platforms, 5 years on plastic, rubber, rope and springs, and 2 years on moving parts and bearings.

Why it works

Play value built in

Active, physical play

Climbing, swinging, sliding and spinning build strength, balance and coordination — keeping kids moving and engaged.

Social & sharing

Shared play encourages turn-taking, cooperation and making friends — the social skills that grow alongside the fun.

Skill development

Problem-solving, imaginative play and sensory exploration support cognitive development through play, not pressure.

Inclusive by design

We plan for mixed abilities and age groups so more children can play together, side by side.
