Choosing a playground category starts with who will use it and where it will sit. A childcare centre or kindergarten generally wants a toddler or nature-themed space with low fall heights and clear sight lines; a primary school needs a durable, high-throughput system such as the School or Towers ranges; a council or destination park has room to combine a rope net, a themed centrepiece and an inclusive area into one site. Pricing follows the same logic. A single freestanding piece such as a spinner or springer typically costs about $2,000 to $10,000, ex GST. A toddler or early-years space delivered and installed typically runs about $30,000 to $60,000; a primary-school multi-activity system about $60,000 to $120,000; and a council or destination playground starts from about $120,000, with large feature playgrounds regularly exceeding $500,000. Every fixed-price quote covers the equipment, compliant softfall surfacing to AS 4422, site preparation, delivery, installation and independent compliance certification at handover, so the figures compare like for like against other quotes.

All playground equipment we design, supply and install is engineered to the AS 4685 playground safety series, which caps free height of fall at 3 m and governs entrapment, structural and impact requirements. Surfacing is tested to AS 4422, the standard that sets required depth from a structure's critical fall height. Falls are the leading cause of playground injury according to Kidsafe Australia, which is why the fall-height figure on every category and product page is not decorative, it is the number the surfacing design starts from.

Ongoing care matters as much as the initial build. Every Kidzspace playground is supplied with a maintenance guide covering routine visual checks (weekly, ideally daily on busy sites) plus an annual main inspection by a qualified, independent playground inspector, as required under AS 4685. Structural steel is covered by a 25-year warranty, powder-coated steel, HDPE, HPL and timber by 15 years, stainless steel and platforms by 10 years, plastic, rubber, rope and springs by 5 years, and moving parts and bearings by 2 years, provided the equipment is installed and maintained to our guidelines.

Most projects start with a free concept design so a school, centre or council can see the layout, ages catered for and indicative cost before committing. From there, custom-manufactured equipment typically takes around 10 to 12 weeks to build, our in-stock Quick Supply range skips that wait, and installation itself usually runs 3 to 14 days depending on scale, so most projects land somewhere between 8 and 16 weeks from enquiry to completed installation.
